Econtalk with Russ Roberts: Part philosophy, part economics, part politics, Russ creates highly intellectual
podcasts, usually with academics/professors who specialize in different topics. Episode themes range from global warming
to human suffering to the Federal Reserve and all sorts of things in between. Favorite episodes include
his interview with Jacob Vigdor on the minimum wage, Ed Dolan on employer-sponsored health insurance, Jonah Goldberg on The
Suicide of the West, and Campbell Harvey on Randomness, Skill, and Investment Strategies.
Invest Like the Best with Patrick O'Shaugnessy: Focused on talking with successful investors across both public and private
markets, Patrick is gifted at guiding his guests in talking through the intricacies of finance. Personal favorite episodes
include his interview with Chris Bloomstram (#141), David Tisch (#55), and Bill Gurley (#137).
The Portal with Eric Weinstein: Launched in 2019, Eric maintains a very high level of intellect
in the conversations. The inaugural episode with Peter Thiel is one of my favorite episodes of any podcast.
Revisionist History with Malcolm Gladwell: Short stories from a wonderful story-teller. Favorite episodes include
'A Good Walk Spoiled' (S2E1), 'Free Brian Williams' (S3E4), 'McDonalds Broke My Heart' (S2E9),
'Malcolm Gladwell's 12 Rules on Life' (S3E7), and 'My Little Hundred Million' (S1E6).
Hardcore History with Dan Carlin: Amazing narrative around historical events. The 'Blueprint for Armageddon'
series covering World War I is one of the most compelling series of podcasts I've ever listened to (and includes ~22 hours of content).
The Bill Simmons Podcast: The sports and pop culture guru. My favorite episodes usually
involve Cousin Sal ('Guess the Lines' during NFL season).
The Joe Rogan Experience: Joe can get pretty much anyone he wants on his podcast, and some of the more
popular episodes have been with guests ranging from Elon Musk to Bernie Sanders to Alex Jones. His episode with
Naval Ravikant is an all-time favorite of mine.
a16z Podcast: From one of the most esteemed VC firms, they cover most topics relevant to the tech world.
The best episodes are when Ben and Marc (founders of Andreessen Horowitz) are on.
How I Built This with Guy Raaz: Guy interviews business founders across a wide swath of industries. I particularly enjoyed
his interview with Michael Dell.
This Week in Startups with Jason Calacanis: Entertaining, Jason is never short on opinions and
comes with a unique perspective rooted in his success as an angel investor.
